đź””Setting Up Employee Alerts in NX POS
Â
Employee Alerts are a powerful tool for maintaining operational awareness. They allow specific employees—such as managers or owners—to receive real-time notifications when specific events occur in the restaurant.
Whether it's tracking high-value voids, monitoring overtime, or keeping an eye on sales milestones, alerts ensure the right people are notified at the right time. 🚀
⚙️ Accessing Alert Configuration
Alerts are configured on a per-employee basis. This allows you to customize notifications so that a General Manager receives different alerts than a Shift Lead.
Navigate to Portal > Configuration > Labor > Employees.
Select the employee profile you wish to edit (e.g., Brandon W.).
Click on the Alerts tab.
đź”” Configuring an Alert Line
Once on the Alerts tab, you can add multiple alert lines. Each line consists of four key components that tell the system what to track, who to tell, and when to send the message.
1. Event
This is the specific action or trigger occurring in the system. The list of available events is extensive, covering everything from sales figures to security concerns.

2. Destination
This setting determines how the notification reaches the employee. You can select the method that best suits the urgency of the alert.
Email: Sends a message to the employee's email address on file.
SMS: Sends a text message to the employee's mobile number.
Push Notification: Sends a push alert directly to the NX Mobile app on their device.
3. Trigger Value
The Trigger Value defines the threshold that must be met for the alert to fire.
For monetary alerts (e.g., Net Sales Dollars), enter the dollar amount (e.g.,
$615.00).For count-based alerts (e.g., Discount Count), enter the number of occurrences (e.g.,
1).Note: Some events, like "Venue Alert," do not require a numerical trigger value.
4. Send Condition
This filter allows you to control when the employee should be bothered with notifications. This prevents alerts from being sent during off-hours if they aren't critical.
Any time: The alert is sent 24/7, regardless of the employee's status.
When clocked in: The alert is only sent if the employee is currently clocked in on the POS.
Weekdays 9 to 5: The alert is restricted to standard business hours.
đź”™ Removing an Alert
If an alert is no longer needed, simply click the red X on the left side of the alert row to remove it from the employee's profile. Always remember to click Save in the bottom right corner after making changes.
