🚨 Using Venue Alerts in NX POS
Venue Alerts allow you to configure real-time notifications for specific events within your NX system. This feature is perfect for keeping management in the loop when high-priority actions occur on the POS.
For example, you can trigger a Venue Alert whenever a specific discount is applied to an order. This ensures that the right people are notified instantly via SMS, Email, or Push Notification when that discount is used. ✨
🔧 Configuring a Trigger for Venue Alerts
To start using Venue Alerts, you must first enable the alert on the specific feature you want to track. Currently, this can be configured for Discounts.
Navigate to the specific feature settings (e.g., Discounts).
Select the item you wish to edit (e.g., a "50% Apps" discount).
Locate the Venue Alert toggle.
Switch the toggle to ON.
Click Save.
Once enabled, applying this discount on the POS will generate a "Venue Alert" event in the system.
📣 Setting Up Employee Notifications
Now that the trigger is active, you need to tell the system who should receive the alert. You can configure this on a per-employee basis.

Go to Portal > Configuration > Labor > Employees.
Select the employee you wish to configure (e.g., a Manager).
Click on the Alerts tab.

Add a new Alert line or edit an existing one:
Event: Select Venue alert.
Destination: Choose how the employee should be notified (see options below).
Send Condition: Choose when this alert should be active (e.g., "Any time").
Click Save.
Notification Destinations
You can send Venue Alerts to an employee via three different channels:
📱 SMS: Sends a text message to the employee's mobile number.
📧 Email: Sends an email to the employee's registered email address.
🔔 Push Notification: Sends a push alert directly to the NX Mobile app on their device.

Can I set up multiple employees to receive the same Venue Alert?
- Yes! You can repeat the "Setting Up Employee Notifications" steps for as many employees as necessary. For example, you might want both the General Manager and the Shift Lead to receive a Push Notification when a high-value discount is used.

Is there a cost for SMS Alerts?
- Not from NX! SMS Alerts are included with NX's simple all-in-one pricing.

Can employees receive alerts only when they're clocked in?
- Yes. Configure the Send Condition for "When Clocked In" and the alert will only send to that employee when they're on the clock.
