🌟 What's New
🏥 System Status Console
A new System Status tab gives dealers and system administrators a live diagnostic view of a venue's hardware and operations — answering "is this restaurant working right now, and if not, what broke?" at a glance.
Nine sections cover the full picture: Devices, Payments, Printing, Checks, Employees, Uptime, Activity, System, and Support. Device management is available directly from the console — reboot a terminal, push a configuration update, or start a remote control session without leaving the app. The console polls live and also updates in real time as events arrive.
An AI-powered check diagnosis is available on demand. Uptime history and employee activity load only when requested, so opening the tab doesn't trigger unnecessary data calls. The Support section lets dealers file a support ticket or email their venue contact with a diagnostics snapshot assembled from what's already loaded — no extra requests.
On iPad, the Devices tab shows a master-detail split with the terminal list on the left and management on the right.
Gated on the View System Status permission or dealer access.
🖥️ Remote Control of POS Terminals
From the System Status console, dealers and system administrators can now take full-screen remote control of an NX-controlled POS terminal — see exactly what's on screen and interact with it directly from the app, with no physical access to the hardware. Touch input is supported, along with a key bar matching the portal's arrow, Tab, Esc, Backspace, and Enter keys.
🧾 Employee Tip Receipt
Employees can now see exactly where their tip-out came from. A new Tip Receipt view in the Shifts screen breaks down each tip pool by date — showing the pool name, direction (received or contributed), and the dollar amount — so an employee asking "why is my tip-out $18.42?" can see the answer themselves without a manager running a report.
Figures are read directly from the server's settled records, not re-computed on the device, so the numbers shown match payroll exactly. Amounts that are still provisional (someone in the pool is still clocked in) are marked clearly with the last-updated time and never shown as final. Privacy is maintained — pool breakdowns show the job and check count, never a colleague's name.
Available from the Shifts overflow menu and from a "Tip pools → View receipt" row on any time card that participated in a pool. Date ranges include This Week, Last Week, and Pay Period (when the venue has payroll configured). On iPad, a master-detail split shows the day list on the left and the receipt on the right.
📨 Employee Messages — Inbox
Employees can now receive messages sent from the portal directly in NX Mobile. A new Messages tab shows all messages for the logged-in employee across every venue they work at. Tapping a message opens it and marks it read; messages flagged as requiring acknowledgement show an Acknowledge button.
Messages that require acknowledgement and haven't been read yet are surfaced prominently when the app opens. Push notifications deep-link directly to the message.
📨 Employee Messages — Manager Compose
Managers with the Employee Messages: Send permission can compose and send messages to employees from NX Mobile. Recipients can be targeted by venue, job, individual employee, or everyone at a venue. Messages support Markdown formatting, a require-acknowledgement toggle, and optional scheduling for future delivery. A Sent list shows delivery status, read percentages, and acknowledgement counts per recipient. Scheduled messages can be cancelled before they send.
Messages can optionally be set to expire — defaulting to 30 days from creation.

📓 Manager Log
The Manager Log is now available in NX Mobile as a full-featured shift and operations logbook. A daily feed shows entries newest-first with severity indicators (Info, Attention, Urgent), tags, author, and time. Tapping an entry opens the full detail with a comment thread, acknowledge action, and resolve action.
Composing entries (requires Manager Log: Create): entries support a title, Markdown body, severity, tags, time period, linked references (checks, employees, customers), and photo attachments. Required-acknowledgement can be toggled per entry.
Enterprise view: tenant-level associations get a cross-venue date-range summary with a roll-up of entry counts and EOD status per venue, plus a cross-venue Urgent stream.
The feed works offline — reading the last-loaded state — and push notifications deep-link directly into entry detail from any tab. Entries and comments are scoped to the venue's current business date and can be browsed day-by-day with a date picker.
An end-of-day summary block is included in the day header; admins (Manager Log Admin) can generate, edit, and finalize it with a confirm sheet.
⭐ Shift Ratings in Manager Log
Shift ratings submitted by employees at clock-out on the POS now appear in the Manager Log feed as a Shift Ratings card. The card shows a client-computed average star rating for the day and a per-employee breakdown (name, job, stars, notes, clock-in/out times), sorted worst-first to surface issues. Ratings stream in live as staff clock out during the shift. Read-only on mobile — ratings are submitted from the POS.

📊 Sales Categories — Nested Tree View
The By Category tab now displays sales categories as a tree with rolled-up totals, matching how venues actually organize their menus. Parent categories show the combined sales of all their descendants, indent by depth, and expand or collapse with a chevron. Parents open expanded by default so nothing is hidden on load.
The pie chart now charts top-level categories only — with each branch rolled up — to avoid double-counting.
🤖 AI Summary — Dashboard Card and Widget
An AI Summary card now appears at the top of the Venue Dashboard, showing the venue's AI-generated sales summary for the day as a collapsible Markdown card. The same summary is available as a new AI Summary home-screen widget (medium and large) for the Lock Screen and home screen.
📱 Home Screen Widgets — Now More Powerful
The NX home screen widget family has been significantly expanded:
- The small widget now shows two configurable metrics — choose from Net Sales, Gross Sales, Labor %, Labor Cost, Staff on Clock, Total Checks, Guest Count, Avg Check, Voids, Discounts, Refunds, Comps, and more.
- A new medium widget shows an 8-metric grid for the selected venue.
- A new large widget lists all active venues with Net Sales and Labor % — up to 8 venues at once.
Dollar amounts in the medium and large widgets use an abbreviated format ($12.3k) to keep columns tight.
🕐 Today's Sales Live Activity (iOS)
A new Today's Sales Live Activity shows a venue's live net sales and labor % on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Two layouts are available — hourly bars (net sales headline + bar chart) and stat card. Controlled from Account → Live Activity with a venue picker and layout selector. Updates live while the app is open, and via silent push notifications when backgrounded.

⏱️ Time Clock Live Activity — Improvements (iOS)
The Time Clock Live Activity has been improved:
- Tapping the activity (Lock Screen, Dynamic Island, or Apple Watch) now opens the timecard detail directly in the app.
- The prominent value is now Pay + Tips (earnings) with the live duration counter below.
- When the expected end time is estimated rather than scheduled, it shows
--instead of a fabricated time. - The Dynamic Island compact view now shows the NX logo, an
h:mmduration, and pay + tips in a tighter layout. - Apple Watch layout is fixed — a condensed layout is now used for the watch's Smart Stack instead of cropping the full Lock Screen banner.
Both the Time Clock and Today's Sales Live Activities now use a clean monochrome style that adapts correctly to dark mode and Always-On Display.
⬆️ Clock Out from NX Mobile
Employees with the Time Card: Clock out from NX Mobile permission can now clock out directly from the Shifts screen in NX Mobile — via a Clock Out button on each active time card or from the time card detail sheet.
The clock-out flow mirrors the POS: open orders and missing tips generate a warning that can be overridden with the appropriate claim; open shift tasks and unentered drawer amounts block until resolved on the POS. Tip declaration is supported for jobs that require it at clock-out.
🗂️ Collapsible Dashboard Cards
Every card on the Venue Dashboard can now be minimized to just its title row with a chevron tap. Minimized state is remembered per card across app relaunches — collapse the cards you rarely check and they stay collapsed.
🆕 What's New Modal
A What's New popup now appears once per app version on first launch after updating, summarizing the release's new features with Help Center links.
🐞 Bug Fixes
- Fixed the menu item edit sheet on Android where toggling Out of Stock or changing the on-hand count never actually saved — changes silently hit an early return and no request was sent.
- Fixed the menu item edit sheet being cut off at the bottom on Android, with the "On hand count" row hidden behind the navigation bar.
- Fixed the menu item edit sheet showing the previously-opened item's stock and count when switching between items without closing the sheet.
- Fixed no error being shown when a menu item save failed — a failed request now shows a toast with the item name.

- Fixed skeleton loading animations not playing after the SDK upgrade — shimmers were rendering as static, unanimated backgrounds. All skeleton screens now animate correctly.

🤖 AI Report Summaries
The Report Viewer now generates an AI-powered summary automatically when you open a report. A "Thinking…" indicator appears while the summary is being prepared, and the result is displayed as a collapsible card at the top of the report. The summary can be collapsed if you want to go straight to the data.
📊 Reports
Every report your organization has configured in NX is now available directly from NX Mobile. Pull sales summaries, labor analysis, end-of-day reports, and more from anywhere — no laptop required. Results come with an AI-written plain-English summary powered by Nexy, so the insight is waiting for you the moment your report finishes.
📋 Expanded Tab Access for NX Partners
The Sales, Nexy, and Reports tabs are now accessible to Partner/Dealer users in addition to those with report permissions.
🛒 Online Orders
The Online Orders screen has been updated to reflect your Order Channel integrations — including third-party delivery platforms and online subdomain channels. The Pause Duration modal has also been improved, and a new Order Channel chart has been added to the Venue Dashboard showing a breakdown of active online order channels.
🐞 Bug Fixes
- Fixed Reports screens rendering behind the iOS safe area on iPad — the report name, back button, and share icon were inaccessible at the top of the screen.
- Fixed an issue where the venue picker scroll position would reset while scrolling through a long venue list.
- Fixed a text clipping bug on Android where the last character of certain tab labels (Nexy, Reports, More) was cut off on some devices.
- Fixed the sidebar not correctly highlighting the active tab when navigating to NX Summary, Hardware Orders, or Purchase Orders.
- Fixed the sidebar navigation clipping items on smaller screen sizes and certain orientations — the nav list is now scrollable.
- Fixed a permissions bug where the system administrator access check was not correctly respecting deny flags.
- Fixed the iOS date picker in report parameters dismissing prematurely while scrolling — it now stays open until you tap Done or Cancel.
- Fixed all option lists in report parameters not being sorted alphabetically.
