Ever need to know why an item was removed from a check or want to keep an eye on waste? The Voids view in NX Mobile gives you a clear, real-time audit trail of every item cancelled at your venue. Whether a guest simply changed their mind or a mistake was made in the kitchen, you can track the "why" and "when" directly from your phone! 📱✨
📱 Navigating the Voids View
To access this screen, tap the Voids tile on your Venue Dashboard. Just like the Discounts view, you can organize this data to suit your needs:
By Event: This tab groups voids by the reason selected at the POS (e.g., "Guest Changed Mind"). It’s a great way to identify patterns in guest behavior or menu issues.
By Employee: Use this tab to see which team members are processing the most voids, helping you identify where extra training might be needed.
🔍 Reading the Void Details
Each entry provides the specific context for the cancellation so you have the full story:
Void Reason & Total: The header displays the reason for the void (e.g., Guest Changed Mind) followed by the total dollar impact and the count of voids for that category.
Check & Item: See exactly which Check the item was on (e.g., "25 - B3") and the name of the Voided Item.
Timing: The precise Time the void occurred is listed (e.g., 01:44 PM), allowing you to correlate it with specific rush periods.
Amount: The specific value of the voided item is clearly shown on the right.
💡 Manager’s Corner: Using Void Data
Spot Trends: If you see a high number of "Kitchen Error" voids, it might be time for a quick huddle with the back-of-house team. 🍳
Search and Filter: Use the Search Bar to find a specific item or check number instantly.
Historical Review: Use the Date Bar 🗓️ at the top to review void activity from previous days to compare performance over time.

Can I undo a void from the app?
The Voids view is for reporting and auditing purposes only. To correct a mistake or re-add an item, you must use an NX POS terminal with manager permissions, or the NX Portal.
Why is the void amount $0.00?
This typically happens if the item voided was a modifier that didn't have an extra charge, or if the item was already at a $0.00 price point before being removed.
I don't see any voids for today.
That's usually good news! It means no items have been cancelled yet. You can confirm by checking the Voids tile on the main Venue Dashboard—if it says $0.00, your list will be empty.
