In the fast-paced world of hospitality, managers can't always be standing right next to a terminal when a server needs an override. NX Restaurant solves this with Remote Approval Requests, allowing managers to authorize sensitive actions like voids and discounts from anywhere in the building—or even off-site—directly from their smartphone.
How It Works: The POS Request
When an employee attempts to perform a restricted function at the Point of Sale (POS), such as applying a discount or performing a void, the system will prompt for a manager's override.
The Request: Instead of searching for a physical manager swipe, the employee selects the option to request an approval.

The Alert: The system instantly sends a notification to the manager via their preferred method: Email, Text, or Push Notification through the NX Mobile app.

Approving via the NX Mobile App
The NX Mobile app (NXR Mobile) provides the most seamless way to handle these requests.
1. Receive the Notification
Managers will see a push notification on their device detailing the specific request. For example, you may see an alert stating an employee has requested to delete an item due to a "Server Error" on a specific order.
2. Review the Details
By tapping the notification, the manager is taken to the Approval Request screen. This screen provides a full breakdown of the order, including:
The Items: The specific menu items involved (e.g., Filet Mignon).
The Reason: The employee's stated reason for the request (e.g., "Server Error").
The Amount: The total dollar value of the items being voided or discounted.

3. Approve or Deny
With all the information at your fingertips, you can make an immediate decision:
Approve: Tap the green Approve button. The POS terminal will update instantly, allowing the employee to proceed.
Deny: Tap the red Deny button to reject the request and keep the item on the check.
