Floor Plan Layouts in NX Restaurant
In NX Restaurant, floor plan layouts are managed at the Venue level in the portal. Floor plans visually represent your restaurant’s table arrangement and can include additional layout elements for context. Before creating a floor plan, tables must be defined in the system under Venue > Floor Plans > Tables.
Accessing Floor Plan Layouts
- In the NX Restaurant portal, select the venue you want to configure from the super picker in the top right.
- Go to: Venue > Floor Plans > Layouts
Creating or Editing a Floor Plan
- Click + New or select an existing layout to edit.
- Enter a name for the floor plan.
- Toggle Active on or off to control if the layout is in use.
Adding Tables to the Layout
- Tables appear in the Tables list on the left.
- To add a table:
- Select it from the list.
- Drag and drop it into the desired position in the floor plan.
- Tables can be resized to match your design needs.
- Note: The table’s shape (circle, rectangle, etc.) is determined by its setup in the Tables configuration, not in the layout editor.
- A table can be assigned to multiple floor plans.
Adding Objects for Layout Context
You can add additional objects to help represent your venue’s layout:
- Label – For naming areas or sections.
- Line – For walls or dividers.
- Box – For rectangular items like bars, counters, or pool tables.
- Circle – For round objects or spaces.
Drag these objects onto the layout and resize as needed.
Creating Multiple Floor Plans
- You can create separate layouts for different areas or setups (e.g., Main Dining, Patio, Banquet Hall).
- A single table can be used in multiple floor plans if required.
Controlling Floor Plan Availability for Employees
Once your floor plans are created:
- Go to Configuration > Areas in the NX Restaurant portal.
- For each Area you can select which floor plans should be available for employees to use in the POS.
