Creating a New Job in the NX Restaurant Portal
In NX Restaurant, a Job defines a role (e.g., Server, Bartender, Manager) and determines the permissions and access levels for employees assigned to that role. This guide walks you through creating a new Job using the NX Restaurant Portal.

1. Access the NX Restaurant Portal
- Navigate to your venue’s NX Restaurant Portal URL.
- Log in with your administrator credentials.

2. Navigate to the Jobs
- From the main menu, select Configuration.
- Click on Labor then Jobs to view the list of existing Jobs.

3. Create a New Job
- Click the Add Job button.
- In the Name field, enter a descriptive name for the role (e.g., “Server”, “Host”, “Barista”).Â

Tip:Â You can use the Copy button located on the right side of the Job list to create a new Job from an existing configuration if the settings will be similar.Â

4. Configure Job Permissions
- If you have Permission Sets configured save time by using the drop down to specify the saved permission settings.
- If you are setting permissions from scratch, scroll through the list of available permissions and check the boxes next to the permissions that should be granted to this Job.
- Permissions control what the employee can and cannot do in the POS.

5. Save the New Job
- After configuring the necessary settings, click the Save button.
- The new Job will now appear in the Jobs list and can be assigned to employees.

6. Assign the Job to Employees
- Navigate to the Configuration > Labor > Employees section of the portal.
- Select the employee you wish to assign the new Job to.
- In the employee’s profile, locate the Jobs section.
- Select the '+' button at the bottom of the list of assigned jobs.
- Save the changes to update the employee’s profile.
