Under some circumstances, NX Partners may want to have log data from the store-level terminals bubble up to their own logging system so they can review what transpired for a given transaction.
To facilitate this, NX allows you to extend our normally logging and include your own logging service as a log destination.
This feature requires NX App Version 1.4+
Currently we have an integration with SolarWinds Loggly we will include additional logging services as needed in the future.
NX Setup
- To include logging for a single Venue, you will navigate to the NX Portal > Venue > General Settings
- Go to the Technical tab and add the Cloud Logging Key provided by your log service.
- Add the Cloud Logging Key provided by your logging service (see below)
- Enabled Detailed Logging by turning on Detailed Logging
- Note: log data will only be sent when Detailed Logging is enabled. This allows you to turn on Detailed Logging only when needed.
Third-Party Logging Service Setup
Loggly
- Once you've created your Loggly account, you will need to add a Source Group to contain the NX logging data.
- In Loggly go to Source Setup > Source Groups
- Create a new Source Group by pressing Add New
- Name the Source Group nx-restaurant and add a Tag for nx-restaurant
- press Save
- Change to the Customer Tokens tab and create a new Token
- Use this Token as the Cloud Logging Key noted above.
