In the fast-paced world of hospitality, teamwork is everything! Whether a server is ending their shift or a bartender is taking over a floor table, the Transfer Owner feature ensures that orders move seamlessly between staff members. This keeps your service flowing smoothly and ensures the right person is always in control of the guest's check. ๐๐จ
Understanding Transfer Modes โ๏ธ
Before you start transferring, itโs helpful to know how your restaurant is set up. Depending on the Job Configuration in the back office, transfers happen in one of two ways:
Automatic Transfer: The order moves to the new owner instantly.
Require Acceptance: The receiving employee must click "Confirm" before the order officially moves to their name.
Step-by-Step: How to Transfer an Order ๐
Follow these simple steps to move an order from your name to a teammate:
Open the Order: Navigate to the active order you wish to hand off.
Access the Order Menu: Tap the three-dot vertical ellipsis (โฎ) or the Employee Name at the top of the order screen to open the options menu.
Select the Current Owner: Tap on the name of the current owner (e.g., "Steve W.") from the list.
Choose the New Owner: A "Change Owner" window will appear. Scroll through the list or use the search bar to find the teammate you are transferring the order to. Tap their name.
Confirm the Transfer: * If your shop uses Require Acceptance, you will see a "Transfer Pending" message. The order remains yours until they say yes!
If your shop uses Automatic Transfer, you're all set!
Receiving a Transferred Order ๐ฅ
If a teammate sends an order to you and "Require Acceptance" is turned on, here is what you will see:
The Notification: A pop-up will appear on your screen saying "Accept Incoming Order."
Accepting: Tap the blue Confirm button. The order will now appear in your active orders list, and you are officially the new owner! ๐

I don't see my teammate's name in the list.
Check to make sure your teammate is currently clocked in! Only clocked-in employees with the correct permissions will appear in the "Change Owner" list. Also make sure that the Job your teammate is working has the Check: Transfer - Accept permission enabled.
