Changing the Order Type of an Open Order in NX Restaurant
In NX Restaurant, you can change the Order Type of an existing order to reflect how the order should be handled, categorized, or prepared. This is useful for updating how the kitchen treats the order, applying specific fees, or ensuring accurate reporting.
1. Requirements

The order must be open or in process to change the order type.

Changing the order type is a permission-controlled action and may not be available to all employees.
2. Reasons to Change Order Type

To apply different fees (e.g., delivery surcharge).

To notify the kitchen or bar of preparation expectations (e.g., dine-in vs. to-go).

For reporting accuracy and order categorization.
3. How to Change the Order Type
Step 1: Open the Order

Navigate to and open the existing order from the Floor Plan, Tab List, or Order List.
Step 2: Tap the Area/Order Type Chip

At the top of the order screen, tap the chip that displays the current Area and Order Type.
Step 3: Select a New Order Type

A list of available order types will appear.

Tap the new order type to apply it to the current order.
Note: If you do not see this option or the chip is not interactive, you may not have the required permission. Contact your manager or NX Support Partner for access.
