Managing Your Shift on the NX POS with NX Shifts
Staying on top of your schedule shouldn't require a frantic search for a paper flyer in the back office. The NX POS brings your schedule directly to the terminal, helping you clock in for the right role, stay on track with tasks, and keep your upcoming shifts just a tap away.
Clocking In with Precision
When you arrive for your shift, the NX POS helps ensure you are clocking into the correct "Job" (role). This is vital for accurate labor reporting and making sure you’re getting paid the correct rate for the work you're doing.
Enter your PIN/Access Code on the main lock screen.
Verify your Shift: Your scheduled shift for the day will be highlighted (e.g., "Bartender" or "Server").
Clock In: Tap the Clock In button.
Note on Schedule Enforcement: If your manager has enabled schedule enforcement and you are too early or too late, the POS will prompt for a Manager Override. A manager will need to enter their PIN to authorize your clock-in.
Viewing and Sharing Your Schedule
Need to know when you're working next? You can view, print, or text your schedule directly from any POS terminal.
From the Clock-In/User screen, tap the Schedule button.
Review your week: You’ll see a list of all upcoming shifts, including the date, time, and assigned role.
Take it with you:
Tap Text to have a copy of your schedule sent directly to your mobile device via SMS.
Tap Print to send a physical copy to the local receipt printer.
Shifts, Tasks, and Sections
The NX scheduling system does more than just track time; it helps organize your entire shift. Depending on how your manager has set up the day, your shift details may include:
Pre-defined Breaks: See exactly when you are scheduled to take your rest or meal periods.
Assigned Sections: Your floor plan may automatically update to show which tables are assigned to you for the shift.
Shift Tasks: Managers can assign specific "to-do" items (like "Polish Glasses" or "Roll Silverware") that you can view and check off as you go.
Clocking Out and Closing Tasks
At the end of your shift, the POS ensures all "loose ends" are tied up before you head home. When you tap Clock Out, the system will guide you through a pre-check:
Open Orders: You will be alerted if you still have active tables or orders.
Adjust Tips: Ensure all credit card tips are entered.
Complete Tasks: A checklist of your assigned shift tasks will appear. Tap Done once they are completed.
Declare Tips: If required, enter your cash tips before the final clock-out.
