Keeping Your System Smooth: Enabling Cloud Logging βοΈπ οΈ
In the fast-paced world of hospitality, ensuring your POS system is running perfectly is key. Cloud Logging is a powerful tool that helps our support team monitor your system's health. When enabled, your NX devices send "event logs" to our secure cloud, allowing us to spot and fix technical hiccups faster than ever! π
βοΈ Note: This setting is now enforced in NX App version 1.6.0
β οΈ Things to Know Before You Start
While Cloud Logging is incredibly helpful for troubleshooting, it does use a bit more internet data to send those updates to us.
If you have high-speed internet: We recommend keeping this ON for the best support experience.
If you use a cellular hotspot or limited data: You might want to keep this OFF unless you are actively working with a support agent to solve a problem. πΆ
Option 1: Enable for the Entire Venue π’
Use this method if you want every device in your restaurant to start reporting logs automatically.
Log into your NX Restaurant dashboard.
On the left-hand sidebar, click on Venue.
Select General Settings.
Click on the Technical tab at the top of the page.
Find the Cloud Logging section and click the toggle to turn it ON (it will turn purple).
Click the Save button at the bottom right of the screen. β
Option 2: Enable for a Specific Device π±
Sometimes you only need to troubleshoot one specific tablet or terminal. Here is how to enable logging for just one device:
On the left-hand sidebar, click on Venue and then Devices.
Select POS Devices from the dropdown menu.
Click on the specific Device Name you want to update (e.g., "Bar Tablet").
Click on the Info tab.
Locate the Cloud Logging toggle and switch it to ON.
Click Save to apply the changes. πΎ
π‘ Pro-Tip
If you notice your internet speed feels a bit sluggish and you have many devices, check to see if Cloud Logging is enabled. Turning it off for a few devices can help free up some "breathing room" on your network!
