Applying Discounts to Items or an Order in NX Restaurant
In NX Restaurant, discounts may be used for promotions, comps, or other reasons when a guest should not be charged for all or part of their order. Discounts are recorded for tracking and reporting, while allowing the items to remain on the order for inventory accountability.
1. Understanding Discounts

A discount reduces the price of one or more items on an order.

It may represent a promotion, complimentary item, or other non-payment reason.

Applying a discount keeps the item on the order but adjusts the amount due.
2. Discounting the Entire Order
Step 1: Open the Order

Navigate to the desired order or tab and open it.
Step 2: Access the Options Menu

Tap the Options button in the bottom command bar.
Step 3: Select Discount

Tap Discount from the list of options.

This workflow applies a discount to the entire order.

You will only see discounts that are configured to apply to all items.
3. Discounting Specific Items
Step 1: Select Item(s) First

On the order screen, tap one or more items you wish to discount.
Step 2: Tap Discount

After selecting the item(s), tap the Discount button that appears in the bottom command bar.
Step 3: Choose a Discount and Confirm

A list of item-specific discounts will appear.

Select the appropriate discount and confirm to apply it.
