Using the NX POS Notification Center
The NX POS Notification Center is your digital "tap on the shoulder." It ensures that your staff never misses a beat, whether it's a technical hiccup in the kitchen or a fresh delivery order waiting to be fired.
What is the Notification Center?
Located directly on your POS terminal, the Notification Center is represented by a movable bell icon. When a new alert arrives, a red badge appears on the bell to grab your attention.
Types of Alerts
System Alerts: Immediate notifications if hardware isn't behaving (e.g., "Bar Printer is not reachable").
Order Alerts: Real-time updates for Online Orders or Third-Party Delivery integrations.
Urgent Notifications: High-priority items that require immediate manager or server intervention.
Managing Notifications on the POS
The Notification Center is designed to be unobtrusive but informative. You can interact with it in several ways:
Open the Center: Tap the Bell Icon to slide open the Notifications panel.
Filter Your View: Use the tabs to toggle between All, Urgent, or Unread messages.
View Details: Tap an individual notification (like a New Online Order) to see the order number, guest name, and timestamp.
Clear the Clutter:
Mark All Read: Keeps the history but removes the red alert badges.
Clear All: Wipes the notification list to start fresh.
Move the Bell: If the bell icon is blocking a button you need, simply press and drag it to a different spot on your screen.
Enabling or Disabling the Bell
We know that every station has a different purpose. You might want notifications on your "To-Go" terminal but not on your "Bar" terminal. You can control this on a per-device basis within the NX Portal.
How to Toggle the Notification Center:
Log in to the NX Portal.
Navigate to Venue > Devices > POS Devices.
Select the specific POS Device you wish to edit.
Locate the Hide Notification Center toggle:
OFF (Grey): The bell icon will appear on the POS.
ON (Purple): The bell icon will be hidden on that specific device.
Click Save.
Pro-Tip: For high-volume areas like the Bar or Expo station, keeping the Notification Center active is highly recommended to ensure hardware issues (like a printer running out of paper) are caught before they back up the kitchen!
