Navigating the NX Portal: Quick Search Shortcuts

The NX Portal is packed with features, but you don't always have the time to click through multiple menus to find what you need. To speed up your workflow, we’ve built in two powerful "Quick Search" shortcuts that let you jump between locations and pages in seconds.

🚀 The "Venue Jumper" (Ctrl + Shift + P)

If you manage multiple locations or a large restaurant group, using the standard dropdown "super picker" can take a few extra clicks. Instead, use the Venue Quick Search.

• Shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + P

• What it does: Instantly opens a search bar to find an Enterprise or a specific Venue.

• How to use it: Hit the shortcut, start typing the name of your location (e.g., "Pacific Northwest" or "Wine Bar"), use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select where you want to navigate to, and press Enter to switch your view to that store immediately (or use a mouse to select).

🗺️ The "Page Finder" (Ctrl + Shift + Spacebar)

Stop hunting through the side navigation bars! Whether you need to update an employee’s payroll or check your hardware orders, the Navigation Quick Search is your best friend.

• Shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + Spacebar

• What it does: Opens a search bar for Navigation Areas. It searches through every page available in the portal.

• How to use it: Hit the shortcut, type what you're looking for (e.g., "Items," "Employees," or "Invoices"), and click the result to go straight to that page.

Pro Tips for Power Users

• Keyboard Only: You don't even need to touch your mouse. Use your arrow keys to scroll through the search results and hit Enter to select.

• Partial Matches: You don’t need the full name! Typing "empl" will immediately bring up Labor > Employees.

• Cross-Platform: These shortcuts work throughout the NX Portal, whether you're on the Dashboard or deep in Configuration settings.
