💳 Enabling Guest Facing Payment on NX6 Handheld Devices

The Guest Facing Payment feature allows NX6 handheld POS devices to present a payment experience directly to the guest — giving them full control over reviewing their order, selecting payment method, adding a tip, and completing the transaction securely.

If handheld devices are processing like traditional workstations (without the guest-facing experience), this setting may be disabled.

🧭 Navigation

To enable Guest Facing Payment:

1. In the NX Portal, go to
   Venue → Devices → POS Devices
2. Select the handheld device you wish to configure.
3. Open the Peripherals tab.
4. Locate the Guest Facing Payment setting.
5. Toggle the switch ON (purple).
6. Click Save.

⚙️ What the Setting Does

When Guest Facing Payment is enabled, NX switches the handheld device into a guest-friendly transaction mode.
This specialized interface is designed for direct guest interaction during checkout.

Guests can:

• 🧾 Review their order before completing payment.
• 💳 Insert, tap, or swipe their card — or choose to pay with a gift card.
• 💰 Enter a tip on-screen prior to completing the transaction.
• ✅ Receive clear visual feedback when a payment is approved or declined.
• 🧾 Select a receipt type (print, email, or none).

This mode ensures privacy, improves the customer experience, and speeds up checkout flow for tableside or handheld transactions.

💡 Why It May Be Disabled

If a handheld device processes like a standard workstation — showing the employee-facing payment screen instead of the guest view — it means the Guest Facing Payment toggle is turned off.

This setting is device-specific (not an Enterprise-level configuration), so it must be enabled on each handheld where guest-facing interaction is desired.
