System Status Notifications in NX Restaurant (POS & KDS)
In NX Restaurant, both the POS and KDS devices can display a System Status Alert to notify users of possible connectivity or device issues.
System Alert Icon
- Icon: A red triangle with an exclamation point.
- Location: Top-right corner of the screen.
- Where it Appears: POS login screen POS ordering screens KDS screens
When this icon appears, it indicates a possible issue with one or more of the following:
- Cloud connection
- Credit processing
- Printer or KDS device connection
Viewing System Status
- Tap the red System Alert icon in the top-right corner.
- The System Status window will display:
- Cloud connection status
- Credit processing status
- Printer and KDS device status
Understanding Printer/KDS Status Indicators
Each device will have a status icon:
- ✅ Green checkmark – Device is connected and functioning.
- ⚠️ Red warning icon – Device is not reachable or has an incorrect configuration.
Possible device error messages:
- Not reachable – The POS/KDS cannot communicate with the device.
- Incorrect configuration – The device settings in the system are incorrect.
Testing a Printer or KDS Connection
Sending a printer or KDS device a test print job:
- Tap the device name in the System Status list.
- The system will send a test order to the device to confirm connectivity.
Tip: If a device remains in error after a test order, verify the device’s network connection and configuration settings in the NX Restaurant portal.
