Viewing NX Devices in Esper
This article explains how NX Support Partners can navigate the Esper portal to view and manage NX Devices across multiple locations. The Devices & Groups section is your central hub for seeing all provisioned NX devices and their statuses.
Where to View Devices
Once logged in to the Esper portal, select Devices & Groups from the left-side menu.
By default, this page shows all devices in your directory across all groups and subgroups.
Switching Views
To simplify navigation, especially when managing many devices, you can switch between two views:
- Device List View (Default): Displays every device individually.
- Group View: Displays subgroup tiles (e.g., by restaurant or location), which is helpful for organizing devices.
To switch to Group View:
- Click the Views button (top right of the Devices & Groups page).
- Select Group View to browse by restaurant or subgroup.
Device Details
To view more information about a device:
Click the Device ID in the list.
This opens a device details page showing key information, including:
- Alias
- Blueprint used (NX-Station or NX-Handheld)
- Last seen time
- Serial number and model
- IP address
- Wifi access point
Best Practices
- Always assign an Alias to each device to easily identify it later.
- Keep your subgroups organized by restaurant for efficient device management.
- Create subgroups under your subgroups for even more organization.
