Changing Wi-Fi Settings on NX Restaurant Stations

NX Stations run on Android and can operate in either multi-app mode or kiosk mode. Depending on the mode, Wi-Fi settings can be updated through either Android Settings or Esper Settings.

This article outlines both methods for changing network connections on the device.

🔧 Method 1: Android Settings (Multi-App Mode)

If the device is in multi-app mode, the standard Android Settings app is accessible from the home screen.

Steps:

Tap the Settings app.
Go to Network & internet.
Tap Internet to view Wi-Fi and Ethernet options.
Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password if prompted.
Ensure the status shows Connected.

🛡️ Method 2: Esper Settings (Kiosk Mode)

If the device is in kiosk mode, Android Settings may be restricted. In this case, access the Esper Settings menu.

Option A: From NX Restaurant App

Tap the NX Cloud icon on the kiosk screen.
Press the register icon.
Tap Device Settings at the bottom of the screen.

⚠️ If the app doesn’t fully launch, tap the loading icon three times to open Esper Settings manually.

Option B: From Esper Settings Directly

In Esper Settings, tap Wi-Fi.
Choose the desired Wi-Fi network and enter the credentials.
Once connected, the status will show Connected next to the active network.

Troubleshooting Tips

Still can’t access settings? Your device may need to be put into admin mode or rebooted.
Using Ethernet? Plug in the network cable, and it should connect automatically if DHCP is enabled.

Once the device is connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet, you can proceed with provisioning or app updates as needed.
