Changing Wi-Fi Settings on NX Restaurant Stations
NX Stations run on Android and can operate in either multi-app mode or kiosk mode. Depending on the mode, Wi-Fi settings can be updated through either Android Settings or Esper Settings.
This article outlines both methods for changing network connections on the device.
🔧 Method 1: Android Settings (Multi-App Mode)
If the device is in multi-app mode, the standard Android Settings app is accessible from the home screen.
Steps:
- Tap the Settings app.
- Go to Network & internet.
- Tap Internet to view Wi-Fi and Ethernet options.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password if prompted.
- Ensure the status shows Connected.
🛡️ Method 2: Esper Settings (Kiosk Mode)
If the device is in kiosk mode, Android Settings may be restricted. In this case, access the Esper Settings menu.
Option A: From NX Restaurant App
- Tap the NX Cloud icon on the kiosk screen.
- Press the register icon.
- Tap Device Settings at the bottom of the screen.
⚠️ If the app doesn’t fully launch, tap the loading icon three times to open Esper Settings manually.
Option B: From Esper Settings Directly
- In Esper Settings, tap Wi-Fi.
- Choose the desired Wi-Fi network and enter the credentials.
- Once connected, the status will show Connected next to the active network.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Still can’t access settings? Your device may need to be put into admin mode or rebooted.
- Using Ethernet? Plug in the network cable, and it should connect automatically if DHCP is enabled.
Once the device is connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet, you can proceed with provisioning or app updates as needed.
