Ringing and Modifying Menu Items in NX Restaurant
Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to ring in, modify, and save menu items on an order in NX Restaurant. It also explains how to interpret order status indicators and send orders using the Save button or Back Button(if configured).
1. Ringing in Menu Items
Step 1: Select Items from the Menu

Tap on the menu categories to browse available items.

Tap an item to add it to the order.

The quantity of each item will appear in a teal-colored box, indicating that it has been added but not yet sent/saved.
Step 2: Modify an Item (If Needed)

Some items may have required modifications or choices, which will prompt a selection before adding them to the order.

Tap on an item on the screen order to open modification options.

Adjust the quantity, apply modifiers, or remove the item as needed.

Once modified, the item remains in the teal-colored box until it is sent/saved.
2. Saving & Sending Items to the Kitchen or Bar
Option 1: Use the Save Button

Tap the Save button to send the unsent items.

The quantity box will change from teal to dark blue, indicating the items have been saved/sent.

You will remain on the current order after saving.
Option 2: Sending Items Using the Back Button (If Enabled)

Some venues configure the Back Button to automatically send unsaved items before exiting the order view or login screen.

If this setting is enabled, tapping Back will function the same as pressing Save, ensuring all items are sent.

The Back Button behavior is controlled by Job.
3. Understanding Order Status Indicators

Teal Quantity Box โ The item has been added but not yet sent/saved. It can still be removed from the order if allowed to delete unsent items.

Dark Blue Quantity Box โ The item has been sent/saved to the order and is no longer editable. If the item needs to be removed it must be voided or discounted.

Yellow Quantity Box โ The item is held and will not be sent until manually released.

Green Quantity Box โ The item has been discounted.

Red Quantity Box โ The item has been voided and will not be included in the final order for payment or reporting. It will still be visible on the order when viewing it on the POS.
