NX Restaurant - Release 1.5.13

This update brings significant workflow improvements for Drive-Thru operations, enhanced control over order rounding and payments, and expanded hardware support for biometric authentication.

🌟 New Features & Enhancements

Ordering & Workflow

• Drive-Thru Optimization: We’ve introduced a new dedicated Drive-Thru order access method. This interface is designed specifically to facilitate complex drive-thru operations, including parking, order fulfillment, and dual-lane setups. 🚗

• Order Rounding: Orders can now automatically round to the nearest $0.05, $0.10, $0.25, $0.50, or $1.00. This is configured via the Area settings.

• Camera Integration (Order Type Actions): We now support interfacing with IP Cameras to capture images when starting an order.

  • The captured image is embedded into the Order and can be viewed by tapping the Order Camera icon in the Order Header.

  • Pro Tip: This is especially useful for identifying cars in dual-lane drive-thru operations. 📸

• Order Type Prompting: You can now configure the system to prompt for the Order Type immediately when starting an order (via Area settings).

• KDS Updates: Added support for displaying Rush and Voided items on the Kitchen Display System.

• Send/Stay/Hold Buttons: Buttons will now auto-hide when accessing Modify Item & Pay modes for an Order.

Payments & Discounts

• BOGO Support: "Buy and Get" discounts are now fully supported, allowing for complex conditional promotions (e.g., Buy a Burger, Get a Shake 50% off).

• Offline Payments Toggle: Offline Payments can now be enabled or disabled directly from the Manager Screen.

  • Note: If you manually enable Offline Payments, you must enable/disable it on each POS device individually.

• Improved Tip Suggestions:

  • Tip suggestions now display in a cleaner format, showing both the tip amount and the total for each percentage.

  • Added support for Auto-Gratuity Tip Suggestions on both Receipts and the Guest Display.

Hardware & Biometrics

• Fingerprint Reader Support: Added support for HID Global / U.are.U fingerprint readers.

  • Fingerprints can be registered via Manager Menu > Assign Card/NFC/Fingerprint. 👆

• Void Receipts: A void receipt or remote chit will now print when voiding items (if configured in the Portal).

• Receipt Notes: Item notes will now print on guest receipts if configured.

🐛 Bug Fixes & Improvements

We've squashed some bugs and made general UI improvements to keep things running smoothly.

• Tax Calculation: Improved tax calculation logic for jurisdictions with enhanced tax reporting requirements.

• Date Display: Fixed an issue where the incorrect year might display if a week belongs to the year holding the Thursday of that week (ISO week date standard).

• UI Polish:

  • Improved padding around the Utility menu to prevent accidental clicks.

  • Fixed a UI issue on the Order List where filter icons were too close to the labels.

  • Introduced new Payment Progress UI screens with smoother animations. ✨

• Printers: Added formatting support for EscPos Impact printers.

• Guest Display: Resolved an issue where the Guest Facing Display QR code occasionally failed to render.

• Time Cards: Fixed a critical issue where time cards could become inaccessible, preventing users from clocking in.

• Tip Adjust: The Tip Adjust screen now correctly filters by the check owner rather than the employee who processed the payment.

• Setup: Added support for Venue Short Code & POS Device Short Code during device setup.

• Order List: Added the Send Receipt function to the Order List actions.

• Approval Requests: Fixed an issue with Approval Requests not sending the proper data.
• Excluded Modifiers: Area Excluded Modifier Categories were still having minimum counts enforced.

🔮 Behind the Magic

• Hardware Support: Initial support added for the Touch Dynamic Fusion Tablet.

• Support for ignoring NX Cloud responses from save actions that may be older than the local record.
• Fixed an issue where the Cancel Order command would change an order from Closed back to Open sporadically.
• Fixed an issue where employees set for Time Clock Only would be able to access Order Access (introduced in 1.5.13)
• Fixed an issue where discounts configured for Open $ or Open % would have both the $ and % inputs available, selecting the % and entering a value would cause the app to crash.
