This update brings smarter ordering tools, an improved refund experience, and a handful of targeted fixes from the 1.6.3 series.

⏱️ Auto-Fire Items
Items can now be placed on hold and automatically fired to the kitchen at a time you choose. Perfect for pacing multi-course meals or managing timed preparation without requiring a staff member to remember to fire manually.

💸 Refunds
The refund experience has been redesigned and simplified for NX6. Processing a refund is now faster and more intuitive with improved screens throughout the flow.
🧾 Smart Tax Support
Smart Tax is now evaluated in real time as items are added or removed from a check — no more needing to save or close the check to get accurate tax calculations when the order changes.

🥘 Auto-Selected Modifier Items
Modifier auto-ring behavior is now smarter and more consistent:
- Menu items configured to auto-selected modifiers will now pre-select specific items in a modifier category automatically on entry.
- Single-item modifier categories (min 1, max 1) will also auto-ring without requiring explicit configuration — they just work.
- All auto-selected modifiers are saved together in a single operation. If all required modifiers are satisfied, the check saves automatically without any extra taps.

🖨️ Long-Press to Select Printer
Need to send a check to a printer that isn't the device default? Long-press the print button in the check header to choose any configured printer for a one-off print job. For multi-seat checks, seat selection follows after you pick the printer — consistent with the standard print flow. Great for NX6 & NX8 tablets!
➕ Item Modifier Support
Modifier categories can now include ad-hoc item lists defined directly on the menu item, without needing a full venue menu category behind them. Ad-hoc modifiers support the full modifier experience — min/max enforcement, auto-ring, swap behavior, and pricing overrides.

🤑 Pax A3x Tip Suggestion & Prompt
Pax A30 & A35 Payment Devices will now prompt for tip input if configured.

🐞 Bug Fixes
- Manual Credit Card Transactions: Fixed an issue where manually entered credit card transactions were failing due to a serialization error. (26.05.28)
- SNBC USB Printers: Fixed ESC/POS USB printing to SNBC printers, which were not being recognized due to a non-standard USB device class code. (26.05.28)
- Log Out from Order Entry: Fixed an issue where tapping Log Out from the Order Entry screen was incorrectly behaving like a back navigation in certain circumstances. (26.05.28)
- Paper Feed with No Sale: Fixed an issue where a single paper line feed would occur when using the Open Drawer (No Sale) function.
