Managing the Team: The Employee Roster
The Employee Roster is a powerful tool found in the Manager Menu that gives leadership a real-time snapshot of their staffing. Whether you need to see who is currently on the clock, check the schedule for later in the day, or quickly find a team member's contact information, the Roster has you covered.
Accessing the Roster
To open the Roster, navigate to the Manager Menu on your POS terminal and select Employee Roster.
Roster View Options
The Roster provides three distinct ways to view your team, allowing you to organize information based on your immediate needs:
Chronological: This view lists employees based on their start times. It is the best way to see who should be on the floor right now and who is expected to arrive later in the shift.
By Job: This organizes the team by their assigned roles (e.g., Bartenders, Servers, Kitchen). Use this to ensure all areas of the restaurant are properly staffed for the current volume.
Directory: This provides a full list of your employees along with their assigned job roles.
Printing The Roster
Select Print to get a physical copy of the roster for the kitchen or host stand. This will print on the connected receipt printer for the device you are selecting this from.
Using the Employee Directory
The Directory tab acts as your digital Rolodex for the restaurant. It is designed to facilitate quick communication between the management team and staff.
Search Function: Use the search bar to quickly find a specific employee by name.
Contact Info: View the employee's phone number, if saved on their profile, for easy communication.
Managing the Day
The Roster isn't just a static list; it’s an active management tool. By toggling the date arrows, you can look ahead to tomorrow's roster to anticipate any staffing gaps before they happen.
Pro Tip: The Roster display will highlight "Today's Shift" for employees, showing their scheduled start and end times clearly so you can manage labor costs in real-time.
