๐ Setting Up a Delivery Order Type in NX
The Delivery Order Type in NX allows you to manage delivery orders seamlessly โ from capturing customer details and delivery addresses to viewing the delivery route on an interactive map.
By enabling Delivery Mode, servers can create delivery orders that automatically prompt for a customer and an address, with built-in Google Maps lookup and navigation.
๐งญ Where to Configure
In the NX Portal, go to:
Configuration โ Ordering โ Order Types
Select an existing order type (such as โDeliveryโ) or create a new one.
โ๏ธ Step 1: Enable Delivery Features
In the General tab of your Order Type:
- Name your order type (e.g., โDeliveryโ).
- Enable the following toggles:
- Taxable โ applies sales tax to orders using this order type.
- Tipped โ includes tipable sales in reporting.
- โ Prompt Customer โ prompts employees to select or create a customer when starting a new delivery order.
- โ Delivery Mode โ activates delivery-specific features, such as address lookup and route mapping.
- Click Save when finished.

In the Prompts tab:
- Under Pre-Order Prompts, click the โ button.
- Choose Delivery Address as the Prompt type.
- Set the Label (e.g., โDelivery Addressโ).
- Toggle Required to ON.
- Save your changes.
This ensures that a delivery address must be entered before the order begins.

๐งพ Creating Delivery Orders in NX App
Once your Delivery Order Type is configured, employees can start taking delivery orders directly from the POS.
1. Select the Delivery Order Type
From the order entry screen, tap New Order โ Delivery.
2. Prompt: Customer Search or Create
NX will automatically prompt the employee to search for an existing customer or create a new one.
The search dialog displays customer history, visit count, and spend.

3. Add or Confirm Customer Information
If creating a new customer, enter their details such as name, email, and phone number.

4. Enter the Delivery Address
Employees will be prompted to enter a Delivery Address, which uses Google Places Lookup to provide accurate address suggestions.
Selecting an address automatically associates it with the customer and the order.

Once a delivery order is active, the delivery icon (๐) appears in the order header.
Tapping this icon opens a map showing directions from the venue to the customerโs delivery address.
