Selecting a Printer on the Fly in NX Restaurant POS
In NX Restaurant, you can choose a printer for your POS device at any time—either when prompted or manually from the POS menu. This is useful if a printer is not pre-configured for the device in the NX Restaurant Portal.
When the Printer Prompt Appears
If no printer is configured for the POS device in the Portal:
- The POS will prompt you to select a printer each time a receipt or voucher needs to print.
- This prompt will display a Select Receipt Printer dialog box with a drop-down list of available printers.
Selecting a Printer When Prompted
- From the Select Receipt Printer dialog, open the drop-down list.
- Choose the desired printer.
- (Optional) Toggle Remember for this shift to save your selection until the end of your shift.
- Tap Continue to confirm.
Selecting a Printer from the POS Utility Menu
You can also manually select or change your printer at any time:
- Log into the POS.
- Tap the utility menu icon in the top-right corner.
- Tap Select Printer from the menu.
- In the drop-down dialog, choose your desired printer.
- (Optional) Toggle Remember for this shift to save the choice.
- Tap Continue to confirm.
Note: If Remember for this shift is off, the system will prompt you to select a printer every time a print job is needed. If you change stations or printers mid-shift, you can repeat the process to select a new printer.
