View or Rest Your Epson U220 Ethernet Printer Network Settings
If you’re having trouble connecting your kitchen or receipt printer to the NX platform, a Factory Reset or a Status Sheet printout is usually the first step to getting things back on track.
This guide covers how to identify your current network settings and how to wipe the slate clean if you need to reconfigure the device.
Part 1: How to Print a Status Sheet
Think of the Status Sheet as your printer’s "ID card." It tells you exactly what the current IP address is so you can verify if it matches your NX Point of Sale settings.
Power Up: Turn on your printer and wait at least 20 seconds for the internal network card to initialize.
Locate the Button: Find the small "Push Button" located to the right of the Ethernet (LAN) port on the back of the printer.
The 3-Second Hold: Using a paperclip or a pen tip, press and hold that button for about 3 seconds.
Release: Once the printer starts making noise and begins to feed paper, release the button.
Pro Tip: Keep this printout! Our support team will often ask for the MAC Address or IP Address listed on this sheet to help troubleshoot.
Part 2: Performing a Factory Reset
If your printer has a static IP that doesn't match your network, or if you've moved the printer to a new location, you may need to reset it to its original "out-of-the-box" settings.
Follow these steps exactly:
Power Down: Turn the printer's power switch to the OFF position.
Hold the Reset: Insert a paperclip into the reset hole on the back of the printer and hold the button down firmly.
Power Up: While still holding the reset button, flip the printer power switch back to ON.
Wait for the Warning: Continue holding the button for about 5 seconds. The printer will print a small slip of paper that warns you the reset is in progress. You can now release the button.
Confirmation: Wait another 5 seconds. The printer will automatically print a final sheet showing the new "Factory Default" IP address (usually
192.168.192.168).
Note: NX POS does not require a static IP address when using Epson Printing instead of ESC/POS. The device can be set for a dynamic IP address and use the MAC address for communication.
Troubleshooting Quick-Fix
Nothing Prints? Ensure the printer has plenty of paper and the cover is snapped shut tight.
Status Says "Disconnect"? Check that your Ethernet cable is clicked securely into both the printer and your wall jack or router.
