Release Notes for NX App
Release Summary
This update brings several enhancements to the overall experience, including a smarter tip suggestion feature, a more intuitive shift summary layout, and a streamlined guest display flow. We’ve also addressed a number of bugs to improve app stability and reliability, especially around payment processing, time clock behavior, and network connectivity.
Improvements & New Features
- Smarter Tip Suggestions
- When declaring tips, the system now suggests tip amounts based on credit card sales, making it easier for staff to report accurately.
- Shift Summary Report Enhancements
- Now displayed using a new, more readable Accordion-style view.
- Values that are zero are hidden, reducing clutter.
- Now includes retained tips for more complete reporting.
- Guest Display Improvements
- If a guest selects a tip that doesn’t require a signature, they’ll be taken directly to the receipt prompt without unnecessary steps.
- New Order Footer Status Bar
- Shows the current order number, seat, payment status, and payment amount right within the on-screen footer.
- Designed to support more order-related information in future updates.
- Streamlined Order Cancellation
- Canceling an in-progress order now takes you directly to the Order Access screen for faster recovery and management.
- Easier Menu Item Search
- You can now search for menu items directly from the Menu Set row using a new bottom sheet interface.
Bug Fixes
- Time Clock Enforcement
- Fixed an issue where restrictions like missing tips or open checks were not being enforced as expected.
- Time Clock Exit Behavior
- Resolved a problem where exiting the Time Clock using the X could result in lost user permissions.
- Payment Cancellation Handling
- Fixed a bug where exiting the Payment Status screen mid-transaction wouldn’t properly cancel the payment with Datacap.
- Network Handling on Launch
- App now correctly sets the device ID when launched without an internet connection.
- Guest Display Tip Prompt
- Addressed a timing issue that sometimes prevented the Tip Prompt from appearing during payment.
- NX15 Terminal Screen Dimming Prevention
- App will now prevent the NX15 terminal from dimming while in use.
