Starting a New Order Using the Floor Plan in NX Restaurant
This guide explains how to start a new order using the Floor Plan feature in NX Restaurant. The Floor Plan represents the restaurant’s table layout with identifying numbers or names. There may be multiple floor plans set up, such as different sections for dining areas, patios, or bars.
Accessing the Floor Plan
Step 1: Open the Floor Plan View

The Floor Plan may be the first screen displayed when accessing the POS.

If not, it can be accessed through the Utility Menu in the top right corner of the screen by selecting Floor Plan.

The screen will display a visual layout of the restaurant’s tables.
- Navigate through different available floor plans using the Floor Plan Tabs in the top left corner.
- An Order List is also available to view all orders by tapping the Orders button.
Step 2: Locate an Available Table

Identify the table where the new order will be placed.
- Occupied and/or active tables have a color status border around them, available tables do not.

Tables may be labeled with numbers or names for easy identification.
Starting a New Order
Step 1: Select a Table

Tap on the table where the guests are seated.

If the table is available, a new order will begin automatically.
Step 2: Enter Guest Count (If Required)

Some venues may prompt you to enter the number of guests at the table.

Use the keypad to enter the guest count:
- Use the number pad to ender a number and hit enter.
- Or, use the quick guest counts at the bottom.
Step 3: Begin Taking the Order

Once the order screen opens, start adding menu items.

Items can be modified as needed before sending the order to the kitchen.
Step 4: Send the Order

There could be multiple ways to send your order:

Stay - Sends the items and leaves you on the table.
- Send - Sends the items and takes you back to your order access method.
- Back - Sends the items (if configured to do so) and takes you back to your order access method.

Items can be modified as needed before sending the order to the kitchen.
Managing Existing Table Orders
Step 1: Selecting an Occupied Table

If a table is already occupied, tapping it will recall the existing order.

Servers can add items, process payments, or update order details.
Step 2: Switching Between Tables

Tap another table on the Floor Plan to switch to a different order without exiting the screen.
