Streamlining Your Workflow: Using the "Auto-Fulfill Orders" Setting π
Keeping your Order List clean is vital for a fast-moving kitchen. To help automate your workflow, weβve introduced the Auto-Fulfill Orders setting at the Area level.
This feature allows the system to automatically mark an order as "Fulfilled" the moment it is paid, instantly removing it from your active tracking views.
What is Auto-Fulfill? π€
When an order is marked as fulfilled, it is cleared from the Web Orders and Drive-Thru views. By default, this setting is turned ON to help keep your screens manageable, but it can be adjusted to fit your specific service model.
How to Configure It βοΈ
You can find this toggle in the NX Portal under your Area settings:
Navigate to Venue > Configuration > Areas.
Select the specific Area you wish to edit (e.g., Drive-Thru or Take Out).
Scroll down to the Order Workflow section.
Toggle Auto-Fulfill Orders on or off.
Click Save.
Operational Best Practices π‘
Every restaurant runs differently! Here is how we recommend using this setting based on your service type:
π Drive-Thru Operations
Single-Window Setup: Generally, you should keep Auto-Fulfill ON. Since you are taking payment and handing over food at the same spot, the order is finished the moment the transaction closes.
Dual-Window Setup: We recommend turning Auto-Fulfill OFF. If you take payment at Window 1 but provide food at Window 2, keeping the order active ensures it stays on the screen until the guest actually pulls away with their meal.
π΅ Delivery Service Providers (UberEats, DoorDash, etc.)
Fast-Paced/High-Volume: Keep it ON to reduce the number of manual taps your staff needs to perform.
Rigid/Detailed Tracking: Turn it OFF if you prefer that your staff manually fulfill the order only once they have physically handed the bag to the courier. This provides an extra layer of verification for order handoffs.
Need Help? π‘
The order disappeared from my screen before I gave the food to the guest!
This means Auto-Fulfill is likely ON. If you need the order to stay visible until the guest leaves, toggle this setting OFF in your Area configuration.
Does this affect my KDS (Kitchen Display System)?
No. Fulfillment usually refers to the "hand-off" to the guest or courier. Bumping an order from the KDS is still managed by your kitchen staff.
