The NX Guest Facing Display Layout Guide ๐ฅ๏ธ๐ฅ
The NX Guest Facing Display (GFD) is a dual-purpose screen facing the customer. It acts as a real-time order tracker during ring-up and transforms into an interactive checkout, loyalty, and payment portal when it is time to settle the bill.
๐งญ Screen Real Estate: The Active Order View
While a staff member is actively adding items to a check, the customer-facing screen splits into four key informative zones:
1. The Virtual Order Tray (Left Panel)
What It Shows: Displays a clean, scrolling list of all items currently added to the order, their quantities, individual prices, and specific modifier selections (e.g., Half & Half or *Toasted Light*).
The Benefit: Allows guests to catch modifications or incorrect quantities instantly before they are sent to the kitchen, minimizing food waste and void disputes.
2. Loyalty Sign-In Portal (Top Header)
What It Shows: Displays a dedicated button labeled "Rewards member? Sign in." accompanied by a dynamic QR code.
The Flow: Guests can tap the screen button to open a safe numeric phone pad or use their smartphone camera to scan the QR code. This automatically attaches their loyalty profile to the active check to track visits and earn rewards.
3. Dynamic Promotional Content (Top Right)
What It Shows: An image carousel container that rotates through high-resolution media files configured in your back office.
The Benefit: Excellent for running active promotions, showcasing seasonal items, or maintaining brand visibility while the order is being rung up.
4. Live Totals Matrix (Bottom Right)
What It Shows: Tracks the order Subtotal, any automated local Taxes, active Cash Discounts or Surcharges, and the final remaining Balance due in real time.
๐ณ The Interactive Checkout & Payment Flow
Once the order is complete and the cashier selects a screen-ready payment method on the main terminal, the GFD dynamically shifts into a series of focused, guest-led transaction modals:
Step 1: Payment Authorization
The terminal screen shifts into a clean status view displaying a green checkmark animation labeled "Approved" or an explicit error dialog if a card is declined, giving immediate clarity to the customer.
Step 2: Tip Selection & Signature
If your venue has digital tipping active, the screen transforms into a clean touch layout displaying three pre-calculated dollar amount tiles alongside Custom Tip and No Tip buttons.
Integrated Safety: If required by your merchant processor configuration, a dedicated gray digital signing box appears directly below the options for quick stylus or finger signatures.
Step 3: Digital Receipt Selection
Once the card processes successfully, the guest can pick exactly how they want to log the transaction from a dedicated prompt window:
No Receipt: Closes out the order silently.
Print: Triggers your station's receipt printer.
Text: Opens a safe alphanumeric touchpad so the customer can text a secure digital payment voucher URL directly to their phone.
Scan to View: Guests can bypass typing entirely by scanning the dynamic on-screen QR code to immediately open a secure digital receipt copy in their mobile browser.

The promotional image container is displaying as a plain blue box.
This means no image assets are linked to your current service Area. Log into the NX Portal, navigate to Configuration > Images, and upload a banner image mapped to your customer-facing screen size requirements.
My guests aren't getting the option to text their receipts.
Ensure you have an active SMS messaging gateway plan enabled on your account. Go to Configuration > Printing > SMS Templates in the NX Portal to verify your automated text delivery networks are active.
