Understanding Your NX Portal Dashboard
Welcome to your command center! The NX Portal Dashboard is designed to give you a high-level pulse of your restaurant operations the moment you log in. Whether you’re managing a single location or an entire enterprise, this is where your data comes to life.
The Main Dashboard: Your Daily View
When you first enter the NX Portal, you are greeted by the Dashboard. This view is context-aware, meaning it will show you data based on the venue or enterprise selected in the top-right dropdown.
Key Sections:
Venue Favorites: These are your "speed dials." Get instant access to high-traffic areas like Employees, Time Cards, Items, and Reports without digging through the sidebar.
Nexy’s Review: Our built-in AI assistant, Nexy, analyzes your sales patterns and provides a quick summary of performance once you’ve crossed the $10 sales threshold for the day.
Real-Time Metrics: Quick-glance tiles for Orders, PCA (Per Customer Average), and PPA (Per Person Average).
Visual Trends: Interactive charts showing Trending Net Sales and Trending Guests over the last 7 days, helping you spot busy periods and revenue dips at a glance.
Customizing Your Data (Financial Dashboards)
Every restaurant operator looks at data differently. While the main dashboard provides a great overview, you can create hyper-specific views by navigating to Financial > Dashboards.
Enterprise Level: Custom dashboards are built at the Enterprise level to ensure consistency across your brand, but they can be filtered to show specific venue data.
How to Build a Custom Dashboard:
Navigate to Financial in the sidebar and select Dashboards.
Add Widget: Click the "Add Widget" button to choose from various data points like Gross Sales, Labor $, Discounts, or Sales Categories.
Arrange & Resize: Click and drag the bottom-right corner of any widget to resize it, or drag the tile to move it.
Save: Give your dashboard a unique name (e.g., "Julie's Dashboard" or "Friday Night Rush") and hit Save.
Permissions & Access Control
You don’t always want every employee seeing every metric. NX Restaurant allows you to be surgical with your data privacy.
Job-Based Access: You can assign specific dashboards to Jobs (e.g., Managers see Labor and Sales, while Chefs only see Item Velocity).
Employee-Based Access: For unique roles, you can grant dashboard access on a per-employee basis.
Setup: This is managed under the Dashboard tab under Employees or Jobs.
Pro-Tips for Operators
Trend Spotting: Use the Trending Net Sales line graph to compare your "Monday-to-Monday" performance. If you see a dip, check the Trending Guests bar chart to see if it was a foot-traffic issue or a lower spend-per-head issue.
Mobile Friendly: The dashboard is responsive! Check your net sales from your phone while you’re off-site to stay connected to your floor.
Clean Favorites: Only keep the tools you use daily in your "Venue Favorites" to keep your workspace clutter-free.
