Elevate Your Team: The Employee Performance Report 📈✨
Want to see who is leading the floor, turning the highest checks, or earning the strongest tips? The Employee Performance Report gives you an all-in-one look at how each team member is performing over a chosen date range.
This report tracks sales metrics, check sizes, tip percentages, and even how often voids or discounts appear on an individual's orders. You can also see exactly who is driving sales for specific menu-item groups (like wine or appetizers). It is your go-to tool for coaching your team, building friendly sales contests, and rewarding top performers!
📊 What You'll See on the Report
The report organizes your data into clean summaries, optional targeted item grids, and visual charts.
1. Employee Performance (Main Table)
This table displays your team members ranked from highest to lowest by their net sales.
Employee: The team member credited with the orders.
Job: The role(s) they actually clocked in for during the date range. If someone worked multiple roles, the one they spent the most time in is listed first.
Net Sales: Total sales credited to them after discounts and any inclusive taxes are deducted.
Checks & Guests: The total number of orders they closed out and the headcount of guests they served.
Avg Check: Average dollars captured per order, calculated as $\text{Net Sales} \div \text{Checks}$.
Avg / Guest: Average spend per person, calculated as $\text{Net Sales} \div \text{Guests}$.
Tips & Tip %: Total tips collected and their tips as a percentage share of their net sales. This is an awesome metric for measuring guest satisfaction and upselling skills!
Void % & Disc %: The percentage share of their sales that were voided or discounted—two helpful flags to keep an eye on.
📝 Smart Math Note: The bottom Total row completely recomputes each average and percentage against the grand totals. This gives you a true team baseline rather than just an inaccurate "average of averages".
2. Item Sales (Optional Add-on)
When you want to track a specific push—like a wine promotion or featured specials—this optional section generates a table per selected category. It breaks down the Count Sold and Total Sold by employee so you can see who is actively pushing the items that matter most.
📈 Visual Charts Included
When you look at the Charts section, NX Portal provides three easy-to-read bar graphs for instant visual benchmarking:
Net Sales by Employee: See your top performers by total dollars at a glance.
Average Check by Employee: Pinpoint who is building the largest tickets on shift.
Tip % by Employee: Identify who is delivering the strongest guest experiences.
🎛️ Filters Available
Tailor the report to your exact needs using our built-in configuration filters:
Date Range: Scope the data to reflect any specific timeframe you choose.
Jobs: Narrow your view to specific roles (like only Servers or only Bartenders) based on the shifts they actually worked during that period.
Employees: Focus on one or a few specific team members.
Item Filters: Choose the exact menu-item group(s) you want the Item Sales tables to track.
🛠️ Operational Ways to Use This Data
Constructive Team Coaching: Spot a team member with a lower average check or tip percentage and work with them on menu knowledge, hospitality cues, or upselling techniques.
Catch Problems Early: A noticeably high void or discount percentage on one specific employee's orders stands out instantly. This lets you take a closer look to see if they need more training or if there's a security gap.
Run a Fun Sales Contest: Launch a friendly competition to see who can move the most desserts, appetizers, or promotional merchandise during a weekend shift.
Reward Your Top Performers: Use the main grid and charts to quickly celebrate your highest-earning and best-tipped staff for the period.
Need Help? 💡
Why is my optional "Item Sales" table coming up completely empty?
For the Item Sales tables to resolve, your underlying report data must include specific menu items. If you select an item filter but haven't included item data in your generation setup, the table won't be able to calculate counts and will display as empty.
An item was rung up by a food runner, but the sale is showing under the server's name. Why?
Inside NX Restaurant, sales are always credited directly to the check's master accountable employee, regardless of who physically tapped the screen to add an individual item. This ensures consistent, clean employee sales reporting across the entire platform.
