Understanding the Performance Report in NX
The Performance Report provides a high-level overview of sales and labor performance for your venue (or group of venues) over time.
It’s designed to help you quickly evaluate business trends, understand profitability, and identify where operational improvements can be made.
📘 Purpose of the Report
The Performance Report allows managers, market operators, and enterprise administrators to:
- Review sales and labor trends across multiple business days.
- Analyze overall venue profitability through the Labor % metric.
- Compare performance between venues within a market or across enterprise locations.
- Spot high and low-performing days to identify operational patterns.
⚙️ Report Options
The report can be run for:

| Single Venue | View the performance of one specific venue. |
| Market (Group of Venues) | Compare multiple venues grouped within a market. |
| Enterprise | View total performance across all venues in your organization. |
You can also select:
- A single date – to compare multiple venues’ performance for that day.
- A date range – to view how a single venue performed across multiple business days.
📊 Charts
In the NX Portal web view, the Performance Report includes a graphical chart that visually represents venue performance by day.
This chart plots:
- Net Sales ($) – shown in blue.
- Labor Cost ($) – shown in red.
The visual helps quickly identify trends, such as peak sales periods or shifts in labor cost ratios.
🧾 Report Layout
Each row in the Performance by Business Day table represents one business day for the selected venue (or group).
The report displays key performance metrics including sales, voids, labor, and averages.

📈 Key Metrics Explained
| Metric | Description |

| Gross $ | The total sales before discounts or voids. |
| Disc $ | Total value of discounts applied to orders. |
| Net $ | Final sales amount after discounts but before tax adjustments. |
| Void $ | Total dollar value of items or orders voided. |
| Guest # | The total number of guests recorded for that day. |
| Avg Guest $ | Average spend per guest (Net ÷ Guest #). |
| Order # | The total number of orders for that day. |
| Avg Order $ | Average order amount (Net ÷ Order #). |
| Labor $ | Total labor cost recorded for the day. |
| Labor % | Labor cost as a percentage of net sales (Labor $ ÷ Net $). |
🧮 Totals Section
At the bottom of the report, a Totals line provides overall performance for the entire date range.
This includes total sales, total discounts, total voids, guest count, and cumulative labor cost.
It also shows the average Labor %, giving you an overall view of profitability and staffing efficiency across the period.

- Identify trends: Spot which days had the highest and lowest sales or labor percentages.
- Evaluate efficiency: Compare Labor % to ensure staffing is in line with sales.
- Track promotions: Use discount and void data to measure marketing or operational impact.
