Configuring Menu Items: The Online Tab in the NX Restaurant Portal
The Online tab allows you to customize the guest-facing presentation of a menu item across all digital touchpoints. This includes online ordering, kiosk interfaces, rear-facing customer displays, and menu boards.
Accessing the Online Tab
To configure the Online settings for a menu item:
- Go to Configuration > Menus > Items.
- Select or create a menu item.
- Click the Online tab.

Item Images
Picture: Upload or select the primary image to visually represent the item across guest-facing platforms. Thumbnail: Add a secondary, smaller image for compact views or alternate layouts.
These visuals help create an appealing and informative digital menu for your customers.
Note: All images should be high quality and reflect the actual product. Images can be managed globally in Configuration > Images.
Description
Enter a detailed item description that highlights the key features or ingredients of the item. This text is shown to guests across digital interfaces to help them make informed decisions.
- Use the button with three dots to have Nexy the NX AI fill in your description for you.
Tip: Use friendly, descriptive language that reflects your brand tone. For example:
“Enjoy our 1/3lb hand-pressed, all-natural Angus ground beef & customize your toppings.”
Saving Your Changes
When all fields are set:
- Click Save to commit the changes.
- Or click Cancel to discard any edits.
