Spot Trends and Track Performance: The Daily Sales V2 (Flash Style) Report ๐โจ
Managing a successful restaurant means keeping a close eye on your financial health, not just at the end of a single shift, but over days, weeks, and months. The Daily Sales V2 (Flash Style) Report is your multi-date, cross-section financial dashboard.
While our standard Daily Sales V1 report is a deep, single-day audit tool perfect for closing out a shift, the V2 report is designed for analytics. It packs your financial data into date-by-date comparison tables, making it the perfect tool to spot trends, compare days of the week, or send a clean weekly summary to ownership! ๐
๐ What Makes It Different from V1?
Think of Daily Sales V1 as your micro-level daily closer and V2 as your macro-level trend finder. Here is how they stack up side-by-side:
| Feature | Daily Sales V1 | Daily Sales V2 (Flash Style) |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Use | End-of-day close document | Multi-day trend and summary review |
| Date Layout | Single date per run | One row per date across all sections |
| Section Headers | Label text only | Label + dynamic totals (e.g., "Summary $4,218.75") |
| Sales Category View | Flat list | Supports Nested, Parent, and Child hierarchies |
| Data Depth | Full transaction-level detail | Summary-level overview per date |
๐ What You'll See on the Dashboard

7. Optional Additions & Suggestions ๐๐ค

๐ ๏ธ Strategic Ways to Use This Report
Weekly Owner Summaries: Run the report for MondayโSunday and email it directly to ownership. The date-by-date layout makes it incredibly easy to spot strong sales days versus soft ones without making them wade through seven individual daily close documents. ๐ฅ
Category Trend Reviews: Use the Sales by Category multi-date view to identify which menu sections are building momentum and which ones are tapering off. This is highly actionable data for weekly menu engineering or planning upcoming chef specials! โฑ๏ธ
Labor & Discount Benchmarking: Compare discount totals across days to see if specific days of the week are running unusually high comp or promotional activity. ๐
Smooth Accounting Period Closes: Run the report for a full month to generate a structured summary your bookkeeper can use for quick journal entries. They will get one clean row per date across every financial dimension! ๐งพ

Need Help? ๐ก
Why aren't the "$ Fees" or "$ Net" columns showing data in my Payments section?
The fees and net deposit columns will only display data if your specific credit card processing integration passes fee data back to the NX platform. If it is blank, your processor does not currently support this automated lookup.
Can I export this report to give to my accountant?
Yes! You can print or download the Daily Sales V2 report directly from the NX Portal dashboard as a clean summary file, making it easy to hand off to your accounting team for monthly journal entries.
