Streamlining Your Menu: Using Price Point Tiles π·π°
To keep service moving quickly, NX Restaurant includes a feature called Price Point Tiles. Instead of forcing your staff through continuous pop-up prompts every time they ring up an item, this feature places all available size or portion options directly on the item's modifier screen. Staff can quickly adjust the price level with a single tap.
What are Price Point Tiles? π€
Many menu items can be sold in multiple sizes or formatsβsuch as wine by the glass, happy hour (hh) glass, or bottle.
Traditionally, selecting these required a prompt to pop up automatically when the item was tapped. With Show Price Point Tiles enabled, the item rungs up at its default price, but staff can tap into the item and choose an alternate price level instantly from a clear, clean grid layout.
How to Enable Price Point Tiles in NX Portal βοΈ
You can turn this layout option on or off for individual menu items:
Navigate to Menus > Items in the NX Portal.
Select the specific item you want to configure (e.g., Red Wine).
Ensure Advanced Settings is toggled on at the top of the page.
Toggle on "Show Price Point Tiles."
Under the Price Points section, define your options and their corresponding values (e.g., glass for $10.00, bottle for $40.00).
Click Save.
How to Use Them at the POS π
Once configured, changing a price tier during service takes seconds:
Ring up the item on the check (it will default to your primary price tier).
Tap the item name on the virtual check to open the modification screen.
Select the Prices tile.
Tap the desired price option (e.g., hh glass or bottle) from the grid list below. The price will instantly update on the check.
Tap Done.
Need Help? π‘
The tiles aren't appearing on my modification screen.
Verify that you have toggled on "Show Price Point Tiles" for that specific item in the NX Portal, and make sure you have added at least two distinct price tiers under the Price Points configuration block.
Can I use this for open-priced items?
Yes! As shown in the configuration, you can create a tile named "open price" with a baseline value. If your employees need to enter a completely custom amount, ensure your item is configured to allow price overrides.
