- Click to highlight the category name from the Available list, and then click the right arrow. This moves the category from the Available list to the Selected list.
Configuring the New Menu Item Report Settings
NX Restaurant reports help to identify customer ordering trends and provide insights into popular menu items. Analyzing sales data from menu reporting can be a crucial tool for marketing, inventory, waste reduction, pricing, and menu customizations.
To configure the new menu item reports
- From the New Menu Item page, click Reporting.
- Use the Type drop-down menu to select the type specification.
- Use the Meal Stage drop-down menu to select the meal stage.
- Click Add Sales Categories to assign a new sales category for which the new menu item should be reported.
Note: Clicking the Add Sales Categories button again allows you to add another Sales Category option for menu items that should report to multiple categories. If multiple Sales Categories are used for reporting, the Amount must reflect the percentage of the sale to report to each Sales Category and all in total must equal 100%.
- Use the Category drop-down menu to assign a Sales Category for reporting.
- In the Amount textbox, type the percentage of the sale of the new menu item that should be reported to the associated Sales Category.
- Use the Category drop-down menu to assign a Sales Category for reporting.
Assigning Routing to a New Menu ItemÂ
Menu item routing ensures the preparation for the item is dispatched to the correct location. For example, meal items should be prepared in the kitchen, while alcoholic drinks are prepped at the bar.Â
Â
To assign routing to a new menu item
Â
- From the New Menu Item page, click Routing.
- Use the Routing Group drop-down menu to select the location where the menu item should be prepared.
Applying Tax Groups to a New Menu Item
Tax Groups are used to automatically apply specific tax pricing to a menu item or group of menu items. Assigning a Sales Tax Group to a menu item ensures that tax regulations and rates are calculated and applied during order processing. Sales Tax Groups should be previously configured before assigning a tax group to a menu item.Â
Â
To manage taxes for a new menu item
Â
- From the New Menu Item page, click Taxes.
- Â Click Add Tax Groups.
- Click the Select Tax Group drop-down menu to select the associated tax configuration.
Note: Clicking the Add Tax Groups button again allows you to add multiple Tax Group configurations.
- (Optional) Click to enable the Reclassify slider for menu items where a modification results in changes to the tax calculation. Enabling the Reclassify slider assigns the Tax Group to the parent menu item when rang as a modifier.
