Sorting menu items allows you to customize the order in which items display within a Menu Category.
The NX Restaurant portal offers two methods for sorting menu items on a Menu Category from Menus > Categories.
- The List View contains the price, item name, and the ability to sort items in predefined methods.
- The Tile View displays the menu item name in a simple click-and-drag method of custom sorting.
List View Sorting
The List View provides ascending, custom, and descending predefined sorting methods for the menu items within a menu category. When sorting menu items using the List View, the items remain in the same order they were added. Sorting adjustments only appear on the selected order sources.
After updating the sorting method, click Save to confirm the changes.
Ascending
The ascending sorting method arranges the menu items alphabetically (A-Z).
Custom
Menu items can be manually sorted in the category using the Custom sorting method. You can move the items in any chosen order by using one of the following methods:
- Click and drag the menu items using the (
) icon.
- Use the up and down arrows to move the items in order.
Descending
Descending menu item sorting arranges the items in reverse alphabetical order (Z-A).
Tile View Sorting
Manually customize the menu items within a Menu Category by clicking and dragging tiles to the correct order. The order in which items appear in Tile View is the exact sorting that appears on the Point of Sale terminal.
Click Tile View to manually sort the Menu Items within the Menu Category.
Click and drag the menu items by clicking on the items you wish to order. After updating the sorting method, click Save to confirm the changes.
