Streamline Your Line: Kitchen Display Header (Simple vs. Detailed) π³π¨βπ³
The kitchen display screen (KDS) is the heart of your restaurant's back-of-house operations! In NX Restaurant POS, the header bar running across the top of your kitchen display can be configured in two distinct styles: Detailed or Simple.
While both styles show the exact same live order tickets underneath, changing the header lets you choose how much extra information and clutter sits at the top of your kitchen screens. π
What is the Kitchen Display Header? π€
The Kitchen Display Header sits at the top of your KDS terminal to provide station navigation, quick actions, and performance tracking. Depending on your kitchen's speed and screen size, you can choose between a feature-packed overview or a minimalist display!
Detailed
Simple
1. Detailed Header (Default) π
The Detailed layout is the default view for all NX kitchen stations. It provides your kitchen staff with a comprehensive, at-a-glance dashboard to keep service moving efficiently.
What It Displays β¨
- π·οΈ Branding & Station Name: Shows your restaurant branding and station identity (e.g., Grill Station).
- π Live Performance Stats: Real-time counts for active tickets, late/approaching orders, average prep times, and tickets bumped per hour.
- π Order-Type Filters: Quickly filter incoming tickets by order type (e.g., Dine-In, Takeout, Delivery).
- π View Switcher: Seamlessly switch views between Tickets, Items, and Recall.
- β° Digital Clock: Keeps your culinary team on time.
- π‘ Connection Indicator: Shows live cloud and network connection status.
Best Used When: Your kitchen team relies on live metrics (like prep-time averages and late-order warnings) to manage the pass and direct workflow during peak hours!
2. Simple Header π§Ή
The Simple layout is a stripped-down, ultra-clean alternative designed for kitchens that prefer maximum ticket focus with zero distractions.
What It Displays β¨
- π·οΈ Station Name (Left side): Displays which kitchen station is active.
- β©οΈ Recall Button (Right side): Tap Recall to view recently bumped tickets if an order was cleared by mistake. (While viewing recalled tickets, this button changes to Currentβtap it again to hop straight back to your active tickets!)
- π All-Day Button (Right side): Tap All-Day to see a running item tally of everything ordered today. Tap it again to toggle back to live tickets.
- π‘ Connection Indicator (Right side): Keeps track of network connectivity.
Best Used When: Screen real estate is limited (e.g., smaller displays or prep stations) or your kitchen team simply wants to focus on fulfilling tickets with minimal text on screen!
