The most core component of an NX Restaurant transaction is an Order (sometimes also referred to as a Check).
At it’s most simplest point, an Order is collection of Seats. However, a Order is far more complex than just a holder for Seats. An Order also contains an Owner and several other important values pertaining to the transaction. For example, an Order also contains the Revenue Center for which the transaction is associated. An Order, and therefore it’s child Seats can only have one Revenue Center.
An Order also contains a record of the POS Device where the Order was started. This POS Device may be instrumental is ascertaining the proper accountability for the Payments of the Order.
Also important on an Order is the Owner. The Owner of a Check represents the User who is responsible for the Order and it may changed using the Transfer functionality. It is important to note that certain logic exists within the App surrounding the Owner of a check. Such as who may add Menu Items to the order, who may view the order and if a User is permitted to Clock Out when they have orders that they “own” but are not closed.
