Keeping the Records: How to Reprint a Cash Tray Report π§Ύπ
Need a second copy of your end-of-shift numbers? Whether for your personal records or to hand off to a manager, NX Restaurant allows you to reprint a Cash Tray Report at any time once a tray has been closed.
When to Reprint a Report π‘
Reprinting is useful if:
The original receipt paper jammed or ran out during the initial close.
A manager needs a physical copy of a previous shift's over/short data.
You need to verify tip-out amounts after the drawer has already been finalized.
How to Reprint from the POS π
You can access reports for any tray closed during the current business day directly from your station.
Open the Cash Trays Menu: Tap the sidebar menu and select Cash Trays (or find it under the Financial section of the Manager Menu).
Locate the Closed Tray: Look through the list for the drawer name and shift you need. Trays available for reporting will be marked with a grey CLOSED status.
Tap "Report": Click the white Report button next to the desired tray.
Confirm Print: The report will immediately generate and print to your default station receipt printer.
Whatβs Included in the Report? π
The reprinted report is identical to the one generated at the time of closing. It provides a full breakdown of the tray's lifecycle:
Starting Balance: The initial bank amount.
Cash In: Total cash collected from sales.
Paid Outs/Drops: Any cash removed from the drawer during the shift.
Expected vs. Actual: The system's calculated balance versus what was manually counted.
Over/Short: The final discrepancy amount.
Pro-Tip: Accessing Older Reports π
If you need a report from a previous business date, you won't find it in the POS "Cash Trays" list. Instead:
Log in to the NX Portal.
Navigate to Financial > Cash Trays.
Use the Date Picker to find the specific day you are looking for.
Open the tray details and select Print Report to send it to a venue printer, or view the data digitally on your screen.
Need Help? π‘
The "Report" button isn't doing anything.
Check your printer! Ensure the station's receipt printer is turned on, has paper, and isn't displaying an error light.
I don't see the tray I'm looking for.
Double-check the status. If the tray is still marked with a green OPEN status, you cannot run a final report yet. The tray must be closed first.
